Four sessions set for Washington County

U.S. Rep. Suzanne Bonamici (D) will be hosting a series of town hall meetings with constituents in September, including several in the local area.

Bonamici, who was elected to represent Oregon’s 1st Congressional District in Congress in a special election on Jan. 31, 2012, is coming to Hillsboro on Sept. 22 and Banks on Sept. 28.

“After several successful town hall meetings this spring, I’m happy to announce eight town hall meetings in September,” Bonamici said. “Congress is working on many important issues that directly affect on our quality of life in Oregon.”

The following are the dates for town hall meetings in Washington County:

Hillsboro: Sunday, Sept. 22, 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Hillsboro Civic Center auditorium at 150 E. Main Street.

Tualatin: Sunday, Sept. 22, 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Tualatin Public Library Community Room, 18878 S.W. Martinazzi Ave.

Banks: Saturday, Sept. 28, 11 a.m. to noon at the Banks Fire Station Training Room, 300 S. Main Street.

Beaverton: Sunday, Sept. 29, noon to 1 p.m., at the Nature Park Interpretive Center, 15655 SW Millikan Way.

Bonamici said she values the meetings because she wants to hear directly from residents of the district regarding the issues they are most concerned about.

“I’m holding these meetings to discuss issues, answer questions and gather ideas,” Bonamici said. “Hearing directly from my constituents will help me better represent the needs of this diverse district.”
