H&G happenings

June 10

Class l Master Gardeners are teaching “Gardening Made Easier.” They’ll share strategies and techniques for continuing gardening without injury. Sprains, strains and aching muscles don’t have to be part of the gardening experience. Gain insights on ways to keep gardening safely and maintain a healthy lifelong passion. Examples of adaptive tools will be demonstrated. Free. Washington County Fairgrounds. 9:30 a.m.

Strawberry Fest l The 48th annual Gales Creek Strawberry Festival will be 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Gales Creek Community Church, 9170 N.W. Sargent Road. Admission and parking are free. Strawberries, live music, hot food, family entertainment and vendor courtyard.

Class l OSU Master Gardener Judy Fenker will teach a class on growing herbs, which will cover varieties, selection, choosing a spot, soil conditions and more. Learning Garden at the Jenkins Estate, 8005 S.W. Grabhorn Road in Beaverton. 10 to 11 a.m.

Garden Tour l The McMinnville Garden Club is presenting its annual summer garden tour and faire. Suggested donation $10. Proceeds benefit scholarships and community projects. 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. N.E. Third and Cowls streets. mcminnvillegardenclub.org. 480-246-6919.
