Garden Class l There will be a free gardening workshop at the Forest Grove Senior & Community Center, 2037 Douglas St., co-sponsored by the Dairy Creek Community Food Web and the OSU Extension Service. 2 to 4 p.m. Physical therapists will address body mechanics, proper lifting, aids for knees and safe gardening. Lynn Wagner, a horticultural therapist, will discuss benefits of gardening, including exercise, recreation and nutrition. Jerry Anderson will demonstrate using garden tools that are easier on hands and arms, as well as container gardening and vertical gardening.

Cattle Class l Nita Wilton will teach Cattle 101 at TorWynd Farm, 21000 N.E. Cove Orchard Road in Yamhill. 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Learn about rotational grazing and intensive pasture management, nutrition, fencing, breeds and conformation, as well as the art and science of grass. $60 in advance, $65 day of class. Bring lunch.
Weed Workshop l A Tualatin Basin weed-watchers workshop will be held at Clean Water Services, 2550 S.W. Hillsboro Highway in Hillsboro. Learn to identify invasive species and report them. 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Garden Class l The Container Gardening for Vegetables and Herbs tour with Jerry Anderson, Tualatin Valley Garden Club member, comes to the Washington County Fairgrounds demonstration gardens. See the container garden project and learn about sizes, shapes and what to plant in containers.
