In response to last week’s article “Pacific raises the stakes” (News-Times, May 29 issue), I am disappointed to read there were no plans for additional parking regarding Pacific University’s “expansion.”

The city planners should require at least a three-story parking garage to accommodate the already overflowing growth of students and staff. The parking in and around Pacific University is limited at best, spilling over to other businesses’ customer parking areas. It has been a problem for years and has just gotten worse over time.

We require developers to build infrastructure to lessen impact on the community as a whole. Pacific University should be made to do the same.

If not, the big question remains: Where are the rest of us supposed to park?
