Council members need to ban everything for city’s new law to work

Well, the ignorant politicians are at it again (“Tobacco/smoking ban passes,” News-Times, June 18 issue), thinking they know what’s best for everyone else and not considering the real world.

If this ban on cigarettes is to work, everything must now change, starting with no backyard burning, no open fire pits, no barbecues, no fireplaces, no outside Tiki torches and no fireworks of any kind, as all of these activities produce great amounts of harmful smoke. And if you don’t ban all of these, your smoking ban is a joke.
