Forest Grove event highlights Washington Countys homebrewers

Western Washington County homebrewers will have plenty to toast to when Brats 'n Homebrewfest returns this weekend to Forest Grove's Senior and Community Center.

The event, featuring live music, live beer-brewing and — most importantly — live beer, runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22.

Homebrewers are welcome to join in the action and swap recipes or methods with their neighboring brewers.

Last year’s inaugural event was a hit, said organizer Adam Zumwalt. “We had a decent turnout and I think the model was really good,” Zumwalt said. “Imagine that — people like beer.”

Roughly 30 home brewers showed up and 100 people wandered through to sample the brews.

This year, admission is $4. No minors allowed.
