The classic drama about jealousy, passion and fear runs Friday, Nov. 15, and Saturday, Nov. 16, then Thursday to Saturday, Nov. 21 to 23.

First produced in 1953, the play is a fictionalized version of the events surrounding the Salem, Mass., witch trials of 1692. Miller wrote the play as a critique of the paranoia and finger-pointing surrounding the Congressional hearings held by the House Un-American Activities Committee while investigating allegations of communist activity in the U.S.

The cast of more than 20 students includes Levi Boyer as John Proctor and Tess O’Day as Abigail Williams. The behind-the-scenes team is led by Stage Manager Kate O’Day, Production Manager

Nate Kersey and House Manager Maurina Schlegel. Students enrolled in drama classes at the high school helped create the set.

Performances will be held in the high school auditorium, 1401 Nichols Lane. Curtain is 7:30 p.m. General admission is $6 for adults, $5 for students.
