She has taught shadow puppetry for years in schools as an artist in residence at schools and theaters and has been a shadow puppetry consultant for Puppeteers of America.

Doherty is an accomplished performing and studio musician who specializes in folk traditions. He has composed music for theater, video and film productions, and has toured internationally as a solo performer and ensemble member.Well known puppeteers are coming to the Forest Grove Library tonight.

Doherty has pursued studies in voice, classical guitar, string bass, Persian santoor and African percussion, and currently performs with the eight-piece group the Trail Band and with the Cascadia Folk Quartet.
