B&B gala funds free shows for students

TEN4ONE has given away free tickets for five years

Hillsboro’s Bag&Baggage Productions is hosting their annual fundraiser gala dinner and auction Saturday, July 19, at Oakwood Gardens, 11785 S.W. River Road in Hillsboro.

Tickets will raise funds to support educational programs for Washington County high school students.

“TEN4ONE” has been giving free tickets to students at Washington County’s 39 participating high schools for the past five years. “TEN4ONE” is being replaced by PASSPORT, which will provide free tickets on demand to any student who attends a high school, educational district, tribal school, online academy or is a registered home school student from Washington, Yamhill, Columbia or Tillamook counties. PASSPORT will serve more than 26,000 students and 80 schools.

Bag&Baggage leaders believe every student should have access to professional performing arts without the barrier of ticket price.

Program costs include paying the online ticketing service, marketing the program, developing curriculum guides, and, of course, putting on shows.

The gala provides the primary funding for PASSPORT and draws hundreds of passionate supporters each year. The $85 ticket price includes wine, a four-course meal, steampunk-inspired entertainment from the B&B Resident Acting Company, and the chance to bid on a dizzying array of auction items and packages.

Tickets can be ordered online at bagnbaggage.org.
