Winsley becomes repeat winner at Sunset

Mike Winsley becomes the first two-time winner on the Northwest Wingless tour

Sunset Speedway wrapped another successful night of racing on Saturday, with features for the Northwest Wingless Tour, USRA Modifieds, Street Stocks and the Women’s division.

For the first time in 2012 the Northwest Wingless Tour had a repeat feature winner with Bill Winsley capturing the event. Winsley took the lead from Mike Romig on lap three and didn’t look back.

Rob Ireland became the sixth different winner in USRA Modified action at Sunset Speedway, winning a side-by-side battle against Chris Quinn.

Marc Farrar added his name to the list of different Street Stock feature winners, as he led the final eleven laps of the main event. Both Tanner Baldwin and Ron Jermann led early, but Farrar was the first to cross the finish line.

In the Women’s classification, Freya Smith won her second race of the season. A great battle occurred between Smith and Andrea Tardio, which came down to lapped traffic and allowed Smith to stay in front for the win.
