Man killed in shooting outside gentlemens club

Gresham police helped arrest three people involved in a suspected gang-related killing at the Mystic Gentlemen's Club, 9950 S.E. Stark St., on Thursday, July 19.

Police said 31-year-old Robert Edward Ford Jr. of Southeast Portland died in the shooting.

Cleveland Dante Nelson III, 28, of Northeast Portland and Mark Edward Hardy Jr, 27, of North Portland were charged with murder. India Ludelia Vasquez, 25, was charged with tampering with physical evidence.

All three will be arraigned Friday.

According to police, at 11:17 p.m. Wednesday, July 18, East Precinct and Gang Enforcement Team officers responded to the report of gunshots and someone shot in the parking lot of the club. When officers arrived, they found man with a life-threatening gunshot wound. He was taken to a Portland hospital, where he died.

Several witnesses in the club told police the victim might have crashed into several cars and a "party bus" in the parking lot after he was shot.

Witnesses said possible suspects drove away in a silver car. Gresham police stopped such a car in the area and detained the occupants.

The Gang Enforcement Team is continuing the investigation.
