Heavyset bike-riding man robs drugstore: "I have a gun"

A man in a wig and orange-tinted sunglasses robbed a Gresham pharmacy on Friday the 13th.

The suspect presented a note to a pharmacist demanding all the Soma and Xanex at Walgreens at Northeast 162nd Avenue and Glisan Street at 2:37 p.m., according to a police report. The note also read, “I have a gun.”

Although the man didn’t brandish a weapon, he did threaten to shoot people and yelled at pharmacists to hurry, saying, “You don’t want a cop to get hurt.”

One pharmacist told police he saw a semiautomatic handgun in the man’s waistband. The pharmacist handed over the pill bottles, and the suspect ordered him to the ground before leaving.

Surveillance footage shows the man arriving on a bike, parking it near the entrance and leaving on the same bike.

The suspect — described as calm and collected by witnesses — is a heavyset white man in his mid- to late 30s, 5-foot-10 to 5-foot-11 inches tall and 260 to 280 pounds. He was wearing a dark wig but based on his eyebrows has brown hair. He was unshaven and wearing “aviator” style sunglasses with orange-tinted lenses and wire frames.

He was wearing blue or black shorts with a white strip on the bottom and a tan or white short-sleeved shirt.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call the Gresham Police tip line at 503-618-2719.
