A Citizens’ Initiative Review panel for Measure 82 will be held Tuesday, Aug. 21. Measure 82 would amend the state constitution to allow privately run casinos.

The Citizens’ Initiative Review is a panel of randomly selected voters who draft the “Citizens Statement,” a statement in the voter’s pamphlet spotlighting the most important findings in a measure.

To draft its statement, the panel hears arguments from both sides of the measure.

The campaigns will make their cases at the DoubleTree Hotel, 1000 N.E. Multnomah St., Portland, starting at 8:30 a.m Tuesday. The last rebuttal will begin at 11:30 a.m. All presentations are open to the public.
