Portland police arrested a man for an early morning stabbing in the Rosewood area.
Kenneth Herkes, 27, of Southeast Portland is being held on $250,000 bail at the Multnomah County Inverness Jail on an allegation of second-degree assault.
Officers responded to a 1:33 a.m. report on Thursday, Oct. 4, of a stabbing at Southeast 162nd Avenue and Stark Street and found the victim, Charles Taylor, 43, said Sgt. Pete Simpson, Portland Police spokesman.
He told police that he was drinking beer with another man behind the gas station there when they got into an argument. The other man then stabbed him in the shoulder with a kitchen knife, the man told police.
The victim described the suspect and was transported to a hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries. Gresham police found the suspect a few blocks away and arrested him.
