Seven Gresham-area Dutch Bros. Coffee shops will donate half their sales on Monday to the family of 21-year-old Whitney Heichel, who was murdered last week.

Heichel worked for a Gresham Starbucks coffee shop, which competes with Dutch Bros. However, the Grants Pass coffee shop chain decided to donate its sales to honor Heichel and help her grieving family.

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family as they try to recover from this unspeakable tragedy,” said Dutch Bros. Gresham owner Curt Hugo.

Southeast Portland Dutch Bros. owner Joe Brown, who knows the Heichel family, says his two coffee shops also will participate in the daylong event.

From 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., half of all drinks sales will go to the family from Dutch Bros. at:

• 6710 S.E. Foster Road

• 514 S.E. Belmont St. (open 24 hours, so donations will be collected from 5 a.m. Monday to 5 a.m. Tuesday)

• 16222 S.E. Stark St. (162nd and Stark) in Gresham

• 13640 S.E. Division St. (136th and Division)

• 18710 S.E. Stark St. (187th and Stark)

• 17404 S.E. Division St. (174th and Division)
