Gresham police are still looking for a man who stole a $13,500 diamond ring from a downtown jewelry store last week.

The theft was captured on surveillance video and police have identified the suspect as Gabriel Beau McAdams, 22, of Happy Valley, said Detective John Rasmussen, Gresham Police spokesman.

McAdams asked to look at a woman's wedding ring at Springwater Jewelers, 35 E. Powell Blvd., at about 5:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22. The store's owner set the ring down on a work bench behind the counter when he went to help another customer. The suspect then reached across the counter, grabbed the ring and left out the backdoor heading east on East Powell Boulevard.

The ring is a woman's white gold solitaire with a round 1-carat brilliant-cut diamond secured by three prongs.
