Springdale School grand reopening —10 a.m. to noon. It has taken the better part of 20 years and dedicated efforts by both theSpringdale School Community Association and the Corbett School District to renovate this historic school site. The school is now on the historic registry, fully renovated and home to CAPS (Corbett Arts Program with Spanish) with 136 Corbett students in grades kindergarten through 8th grade. Ribbon cutting ceremony, a cider press in the play shed and possible student musical performances.

Troutdale Historical Society — 6 p.m., Fairview Community Center, 300 Harrison St., Fairview. Historian Steve Lehl and Chuck Rollins, president of the Crown Point Country Historical Society, will present about early fishing on the Columbia River, from Native Americans to commercial operations of the 1930s. Harvest Bazaar — 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Firwood Elementary School, 42900 S.E. Trubel Road, Sandy. Music by a local DJ, crafts and food that will benefit Firwood Elementary students. For information, call 503-668-8005.

Naturescaping workshop — 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., 6704 S.E. 122nd Ave., Portland. Learn how to design your landscape to reduce water use, decrease storm water runoff and improve habitat for local birds, wildlife and you. Participants get to view before and after naturescaping examples, get native planting and design tips and take a field trip to a nearby project to see naturescaping principles in use.
