Army

Welch — Pvt. Brogan Welch, a former Fairview resident, graduated from basic training at Fort Benning in Cusseta, Ga. He then completed several months of medical training at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio.

Welch is stationed as an Army medic at Schofield Barracks in Hawaii.

After growing up in Fairview, Welch graduated from La Center High School in Washington in 2010. He is the son of Joseph Welch and Melissa Cicelski of La Center, Wash. His grandparents, Gerald and Margaret Welch, live in Fairview.

Marines

McKeel — Geoffrey J. McKeel of Gresham will be promoted to lieutenant colonel of the United States Marine Corps at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, at the National Museum of the Marine Corps in Quantico, Va. A reception will follow.

McKeel is the son of Diane and Dr. Michael McKeel of Gresham.
