Mack reportedly walked up to a woman inside her vehicle in the parking lot of Lacrosse Footwear at 18201 N.E. Portal Way, punched her, took her keys and drove off in her sports utility vehicle heading west on Airport Way at about 4:15 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, said Sgt. Pete Simpson, Portland Police spokeswoman.

Meanwhile, calls came in to 911 reporting a car off the road at Northeast 148th Avenue and Marine Drive, as well as a drunk driver near Northeast 33rd Avenue and Marine Drive.

Officers from the Port of Portland Police Department saw the vehicle on Marine Drive and followed it to Northeast 122nd Avenue and Airport Way, where a Port of Portland police officer tried to stop it, but the vehicle turned westbound on Airport Way in the eastbound lanes.

A Portland police officer forced the car to stop and officers arrested the driver, identified as Mack, without further incident at 4:46 p.m. They also returned the vehicle to its rightful owner.
