Equipment failure causes power outage

An early morning power outage affected approximately 9,800 customers in Wood Village, Troutdale and Fairview.

An apparent equipment failure at a Portland General Electric substation in Fairview led to the outage starting at about 6:40 a.m. Sunday, April 21, according to a PGE press release. PGE crews responded and restored power by around 10 a.m. Crews are investigating to determine the exact cause.
