Hearing-impaired invited to explore Northwest Youth Corps

Northwest Youth Corps is offering deaf and hard of hearing youths a new program.

Youths will have the opportunity to work on trail maintenance, wilderness cleanup and other projects throughout Oregon Saturday, July 27, through Saturday, Aug. 31.

Each day, participants will spend an hour working on a SEED (Something Educational Every Day) lesson, logging enough hours to earn high school credit.

Modeled after the historic Civilian Conservation Corps of the 1930s, Northwest Youth Corps was created in 1984 to offer teenagers an education-based work experience.

For more information, call Northwest Youth Corps at 541-349-5055 or visit nwyouthcorps.org.
