Police seek identity of suspected Walmart groper

by: CONTRIBUTED PHOTO - Police are looking for the identity of this man.A man who accosted a woman while she was shopping after midnight in the Wood Village Walmart on Friday, July 5, is shown on the store’s video surveillance, said Lt. Steve Alexander, public information officer for the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office.

Now detectives are asking the public for help in identifying the man.

At 12:18 a.m. inside the Walmart at 23500 N.E. Sandy Blvd., a woman was browsing the DVD section when a man reportedly came up behind her and grabbed her buttocks with both hands, then pressed her up against a DVD display case.by: CONTRIBUTED PHOTO - The man suspected of groping a woman while she was shopping at the Walmart in Wood Village fled the store.

The suspect’s upper body touched the back of the woman before he ran off through the store, according to the police report.

Detectives obtained video surveillance of the man’s actions, including images of him leaving the store, which they hope will help locate the suspect.
