Reynolds High distributes yearbooks

The 2013 Reynolds High School yearbooks will be available for pick up from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, at the Reynolds High School yearbook distribution and autograph party in the Arts and Communication Building.

Returning students who cannot make the event may pick up their yearbooks during student registration from noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, or 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22. Graduates who cannot attend the Tuesday event may pick up their yearbooks between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. the following week in the main office.

Centennial class of 2003 reunites

The Centennial High School Class of 2003 reunion will take place at 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at Splash Bar, 904 N.W. Couch St., Portland.

Tickets may be purchased online through Sept. 1 for $31. Limited tickets will be available at the door for $35.

Reynolds students earn AP honors

Reynolds High School announced 22 of its students have earned AP Scholar Awards.

The College Board recognizes several levels of achievement based on students’ performance on AP Exams.

The awards are as follows:

AP Scholars (students who receive scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP Exams): Alexis Christensen, Francisco Cruz-Contreras, Danielle Dufresne, Benjamin Herzog, Rhianna Marking, Merit McAdams and Nicholas Phillips.

AP Scholars with Honor (students who receive an average score of at least 3.23 on all AP Exams taken and scores of 3 or higher on four or more AP Exams): Zachary Goode, Elizabeth Jackson, Luydmila Koba, Andrew Larson, Bridget McBride, Christine Nguyen and Joseph Palmisano.

AP Scholars with Distinction (students who receive an average score of 3.5 on all AP Exams taken and scores of 3 or higher on five or more AP Exams): Tanner Byer, Rachel Conway, Emily Dobrinski, Alison Flynn, Adrianna Kahler-Quesada and Henry Sykes.

Study for the SAT

Portland Lutheran School is offering an SAT prep course for the Oct. 5 and Nov. 2 test dates.

Classes, taught by two experienced instructors, will run from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, with diagnostic tests in math, critical reading and writing. Class meetings will take place from 12:45-5 p.m. the following four Sundays.

Combined prep in all subject areas is $359, or students may take only math or critical reading/writing prep for $199 (all fees include a copy of the Official SAT Study Guide).
