Watch for home repair scammers

The Construction Contractors Board reminds homeowners experiencing damage from recent flooding and high winds to verify that contractors are state licensed because scammers might try to take advantage of the situation.

Homeowners can check with the CCB to make sure the contractor is properly licensed through the agency website at oregon.gov/CCB or by calling 503-378-4621.

Soroptimists host El Bistro night

The Soroptimist International of Gresham club is hosting El Bistro, a night of wine and beer tasting, food and games Friday, April 27, at Club Paesano, 3800 W. Powell Loop.

Attendees can enjoy wines from Argentina, Australia, New Zealand and the Northwest; silent and oral auctions; and a dinner from Always Perfect Catering.

Proceeds will fund grants and scholarships in the community.

Funding available for habitat projects

Funding is available for Oregonians to carry out wetland protection projects and to improve wildlife habitat.
