Gresham resident Rose Marie McLean, 82, died Thursday, Feb. 2, in Phoenix, Ariz.
A private service will be held at a later date.
Rose was born April 15, 1929, in McMinnville to Harold and Hazel McLean. She graduated from Gresham High School in 1947.
Rose worked for Reynolds High School. She retired as the head cook in 1987.
Kenneth L. Schultz
March 15, 1936-Jan. 21, 2012
Former East County resident Kenneth L. Schultz died Saturday, Jan. 21, at his home in Yuma, Ariz. He was 75.
A private celebration of his life will be held. Interment will be at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
Ken was born March 15, 1936, in Portland to Wesley and Gertrude Schultz. He graduated from Franklin High School. He served in the Army in Korea for a year.
On May 26, 1973, he married Nancy Schmunk at Ascension Lutheran Church in Gresham.
Ken worked as a route salesman for a Portland bottling company. He attended Good Shepherd Community Church and was a member of the Gresham Elks until 2007, when he transferred his membership to Yuma.
Survivors include his wife; daughters, Connie Nott of Phoenix, Ariz., and Lorie Weissman of Parker, Colo.; son, Gregory Schultz of Portland; sister, JoAnne Carter of Oregon City; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Helen Rose Karl

Former East County resident Helen Rose Karl died Saturday, Feb. 11, at the Willapa Harbor Hospital in South Bend, Wash. She was 88.
Rosary services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, at Stoller's Mortuary, 315 Fifth St., Raymond, Wash. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 17, at St. Henry Catholic Church, 346 N.W. First St., Gresham, with burial to follow at the Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Helen was born Aug. 28, 1923, in Shickley, Neb., to William and Rose (Schroller) Kamler.
On May 23, 1941, Helen married Joseph Murray Woods. He preceded her in death. On Sept. 10, 1977, she married Raymond J. Karl in Gresham. He also preceded her in death.
Helen moved to Willapa Harbor in 2006. She enjoyed cooking, dancing, sewing, spending time with her family and traveling.
She was preceded in death by her son, Joseph Woods, in 1991; and her brothers William Kamler Jr., Robert Kamler and Francis Kamler.
Survivors include her sons, William Woods and Stan Woods, both of Raymond, Wash.; stepson, Mike Karl of Lafayette; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
