A man was taken to the hospital with traumatic injuries after he was hit by a car in Southeast Portland Sunday night.
Police are looking for the driver who fled the scene after the crash.
The only vehicle description is a dark-colored older car.
The name and condition of the victim was not immediately released.
According to police, at 8:34 p.m. on Oct. 27, East Precinct officers responded to the report of a pedestrian hit by a car on Southeast 148th Avenue, just south of Powell Boulevard.
Officers and medical personnel arrived and located the victim, an adult male, who was suffering from traumatic but not life-threatening injuries.
The victim was transported to a Portland hospital for treatment.
Preliminary information indicates that the victim was walking along 148th Avenue northbound towards Powell Boulevard when he was struck by a northbound car driven by an unknown person.
Witnesses told police that the car stopped momentarily then left the area northbound on 148th Avenue. There is not a sidewalk along 148th Avenue in the area of the crash, at Rhine Court.
Witnesses told police that the car that struck the pedestrian fled the scene after the crash.
