Victim was stabbed twice in the back

A 26-year-old Portland man was arrested Saturday evening for stabbing another man twice in the back at a Gresham apartment complex

Gresham police said Steven P. Fullington went to his ex-girlfriend's apartment in the 1200 block of Northeast Linden Avenue at about 6 p.m. Dec. 21, and stabbed 28-year-old Derek Hutchinson of Beaverton in the back. Hutchinson who was hospitalized with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Police arrived at the apartment and discovered that Fullington had left the area. Officers found him a few minutes later.

Fullington faces felony charges of first-degree assault and first-degree attempted murder. Bail was set at $500,000.
