Missing Gresham girls come home safe

Two 13-year-olds were gone overnight

Two 13-year-old Gresham girls who were missing overnight came home of their own accord, according to Gresham police.

After Malia Sherman and Skyler Taylor didn't come home from the mall the night of Jan. 4, they were reported missing. They had been seen at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 4 at Clackamas Town Center, and at 9:30 p.m. Malia informed her mother — the police report doesn't say how — that she was taking the MAX home to Gresham, but she never arrived.

The girls came home the next day, on the afternoon of Jan. 5, according to a spokeswoman in the police records department. She said no details would be provided as to their whereabouts during the time they were gone from home.
