Troutdale city attorney resigns

Firm hired to serve as city's interim attorney

David Ross has resigned his position as Troutdale’s City Attorney, and the city is in the process of recruiting a replacement.

The city is hiring the firm Jordan Ramis P.C. to fill the position during the interim, said City Recorder Debbie Stickney.

The firm has offices based in Lake Oswego, Bend and Vancouver, Wash.

The Troutdale City Council discussed the hiring plan during its meeting on Tuesday, March 11.

Stickney said the council has decided against hiring an in-house attorney, and instead has directed staff to prepare documents to support hiring a contract attorney.

Ross, who was hired in August 2007, left his position on March 2. The Outlook’s attempts to contact Ross for comment were unsuccessful.

Troutdale Mayor Doug Daoust would not provide details as to why Ross resigned, but did say he left on good terms.

Daoust added that the city is looking for some “new” and “different” representation.

The city attorney issues legal advice to the city and represents the city in all civil legal matters.
