One driver is dead and another injured after a head-on crash at 8:15 a.m. Friday, March 23, in the 21600 block of Southeast Foster Road in Damascus.
The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office is withholding names of the victims until their families are notified.
Sheriff's deputies, along with personnel from the Boring Fire District and emergency medical services, arrived at the scene and found one person dead and the other with injuries, according to a press release. There were no passengers in the sedan or SUV involved in the crash.
An ambulance transported the injured driver to a hospital, deputies reported; the extent of the injuries is unknown.
Foster Road between Damascus Lane and Southeast 197th Avenue was closed through Friday morning as deputies investigated the crash.
When the vehicles collided, the weather was clear, but there was reportedly black ice on the road, deputies said. Investigators said road conditions may have been a factor in the crash.
