Carl Lendel 'Lenny' Buttram

Gresham resident Carl Lendel 'Lenny' Buttram died Tuesday, April 3, in Forest Grove. He was 74.

No public services will be held.

Lenny was born July 11, 1937, in Prineville, Mo., to Rueben and Gladys (Greene) Buttram. Lenny was raised in Shady Cove. He resided in Portland for 29 years and in Gresham for the last eight years.

On Feb. 18, 1984, he married Loretta Gray in Shady Cove.

Lenny was a boilermaker who worked at the Swan Island shipyards.

Lenny was a boxer. He enjoyed camping and bass fishing, and he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife; sons, Randy Cannon of Sacramento, Calif., and Russell Buttram of North Carolina; daughters, Melissa Goddard of Erwin, Tenn., Mallea Johnson of Gresham, Amber Buttram of Medford and Michelle Martin of Tucson, Ariz.; sister, Sandy Watson of Central Point; 15 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Dennis Keith Horton

March 29, 1951-March 26, 2012

Fairview resident Dennis Keith Horton, 60, died Monday, March 26, in Portland.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 7, at Eastrose Fellowship Unitarian Universalist, 1133 N.E. 181st Ave. Interment will be at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.

Dennis was born March 29, 1951, in Seattle to Clarence 'Larry' Jr. and Eileen Horton. Dennis grew up on Northeast 131st Avenue and Burnside Street in Portland. He graduated from David Douglas High School and received his bachelor's degree from George Fox University in 1991. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War.

Dennis worked in retail sales and owned The Bargain Hunter in Troutdale until it closed. He resided in Corbett for 14 years, Troutdale for six years and in Fairview for six years. He was divorced.

Dennis attended Eastrose Fellowship Unitarian Universalist.

His brother, Harvey Horton, preceded him in death in 2005.

Richard 'Dick' Harold Johnson

Feb. 18, 1932-April 3, 2012

Gresham resident Richard 'Dick' Harold Johnson, 80, died Tuesday, April 3.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 10, at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home, 520 W. Powell Blvd. A concluding graveside service will follow at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Willamette National Cemetery, 11800 S.E. Mount Scott Blvd., Portland.

Dick was born Feb. 18, 1932, in Johnston, Ohio, to Carl and Wilma (Carter) Johnson. He served with the Army during the Korean War.

Dick resided in Costa Mesa, Calif., for many years. He moved to the Portland area in 1980 and resided in the East Portland/Gresham area.

On Nov. 30, 1991, he married Katherine 'Kay' Lundy in Vancouver, Wash.

Dick was the lead custodian in the Centennial School District. His hobbies included woodworking and traveling in a recreational vehicle. He loved being around birds and squirrels. He was a member of American Legion Post 1.

Survivors include his wife; sons, Vince, Carl, Bobby, Rick and Billy Johnson, all of Costa Mesa; daughter, Diane Hedrick of Peoria, Ill.; and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

William Jasper Crenshaw Sr.

April 30, 1932-April 2, 2012

Gresham resident William Jasper Crenshaw Sr. died Monday, April 2. He was 79.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 14, at Cliffside Cemetery, 15635 Ten Eyck Road, Sandy.

William was born April 30, 1932, in Oklahoma City to John and Jewel Crenshaw.

William retired from West Coast Insulation in Sebring, Fla., in early 2000.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Dora; son, William Crenshaw Jr. of Lake Placid, Fla.; daughters, Glendora Crenshaw-Roos, Martha Dick and Sharon Schwartz, all of Gresham; eight grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Blanche M. Bogle

Oct. 10, 1939-March 29, 2012

Former Gresham resident Blanche M. Bogle died Thursday, March 29, in Vancouver, Wash., at the age of 72.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 15, at the home of Jeff Bogle.

Blanche was born Oct. 10, 1939, in Effie, Minn., to Alfred and Tillie (Modderman) Hawes. She was raised on the family farm and educated in Lebanon, Ore.

On June 12, 1959, she married Robert Bogle in Multnomah County. Besides caring for her family, Blanche worked for Nabisco Bakery on the assembly line for 40 years, retiring in 2007.

She enjoyed sewing and quilting, and was an avid walker. She enjoyed putting together teams to walk for a cause. When her boys were younger the family was active in motorcross.

Blanche was preceded death by her husband in 2008.

She is survived by her sons, Jeff and James, both of Vancouver, and Craig Bogle of Gresham; sister, Joyce Ammond of Albany; brother, Alvin Hawes of Newberg; and five grandchildren.

The family suggest contributions to the American Cancer Society.
