Proceeds benefit Corbett High School graduates

The Columbia River Gorge Kiwanis Club of Corbett will host its annual pancake breakfast from 7-10 a.m. Friday, July 4, during the Corbett Fun Festival.

Pancakes, eggs and sausage will be served inside Corbett High School’s multipurpose building.

Cost is $6 for adults and $3 for ages 10 and younger. Children under 5 eat free.

Parking will be provided free until the end of the breakfast. Then fees will apply for the Corbett Fun Festival events.

Proceeds of the breakfast go to scholarships for Corbett High School seniors.

This year, the Kiwanis Club awarded $3,500 in scholarships to Corbett graduates, according to Michael Orelove, member of the Kiwanis Scholarship Committee.

As a global service organization, Kiwanis seeks to encourage students to continue volunteering their time to help others.

The Kiwanis club also will collect old eyeglasses, both at the pancake breakfast and at the Kiwanis booth at the Corbett Fun Festival, as part of the Save Old Spectacles program.

Old eyeglasses are then refurbished and distributed to people in need living in poor countries.
