Nathalie Wright, a Mt. Hood Community College literature and writing instructor, has organized a community education trip to Ashland for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival the past six years.

This year’s trip takes place Friday, Aug. 1 through Sunday, Aug. 3, featuring three performances — “Richard III,” “The Tempest” and “Into the Woods” — and a backstage tour.

“It’s a great opportunity for local residents to see some world class theatre with like-minded participants,” Wright wrote.

The weekend trip costs $285, with additional options of attending the world premier sequel to “All the Way,” “The Great Society,” and two nights’ accommodation at the Flagship Inn.

“The Great Society” is an extra $49, and the accommodation is $92 to stay in a room solo.

Transportation is up to attendees; however, Wright said coordinating carpooling has worked well in the past.

Sign up for the trip is required by Thursday, July 10. For more information, email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or visit learn.mhcc.edu to register.
