Deadline March 18 for newspaper's 'exceptional women' nominations
Three years ago, The Outlook, Sandy Post and Estacada News published a special section that has proven to be a reader favorite: Exceptional Women.
The publication provides us with an opportunity to introduce you to some extraordinary women behind-the-scenes community volunteers, business owners, civic leaders and those who place an equally high priority on supporting their families.
Since its launch, weve written about such Exceptional Women as:
n Lynn Snodgrass, former state legislator and business owner. After conquering a medical issue, Lynn has taken her passion for East Multnomah County to a higher level as CEO of the Gresham Area Chamber of Commerce.
n Estacada arts advocate, Jane Reid, whose communication and grant writing skills have brought artistic opportunities to the schools and community.
n Olga Gerberg of Sandy. Drawing from her own experience as a newcomer to the United States, Olga dedicates her time to helping Latinos settle into their new home.
In all, over the last three years, we have written about the life stories of nearly two dozen amazing women.
But we know there are others. We are assembling a list of candidates for stories in our 2016 edition, which will be published in late April.
Nominations should include the reason you find your candidate to be exceptional. Please provide as much information as possible about their career, community involvements and family. We will need to know how to get in touch with you (email and phone) as well as how to reach the person you are nominating.
Please submit nominations by 5 p.m. Friday, March 18. This will provide time to narrow the list and do our stories.
