Wood Village plans street repairs in September
Street parking for residents limited during repairs
Asphalt repairs on roads in several Wood Village neighborhoods are expected to begin Wednesday, Sept. 18.
Street parking will be prohibited in all project areas for the duration of repairs, said Greg Dirks, records manager for Wood Village.
Roads being slurried on two consecutive days in late September will be closed from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The city will notify affected residents before the project begins.
Designated detours and nearby parking options also will be posted.
Vehicles parked in a no-parking area will be towed, the city said.
Roads to receive surface repairs, crack sealing and slurry seals include Northeast 230th Court, 231st Court, Village Court, 235th Avenue, Birch Avenue, Walnut Avenue, Stanley Street, Holt Court, 236th Avenue, Shannon Street and Shannon Court.
Repair dates are weather dependent and may change.
Wood Village hopes to have the project complete by the end of September.
The city would like to remind citizens not to drive or walk on crack or slurry sealed roads until its cured. The black, sticky material used to seal roads will stain and ruin your shoes, clothes, carpets, tires, bikes and cars.
Wood Village will open City Hall to any residents who want to spend the day of the slurry seal process away from their house, and can park their car in the city parking lot. Any changes to bus routes within the Reynolds School District will be posted on the citys website.
Monday-Wednesday, Sept. 23-25: Digging is scheduled. On-street parking will be prohibited in specific marked locations.
Thursday, Sept. 26, or Friday, Sept. 27: A slurry seal will be applied. Vehicle traffic and on-street parking will be prohibited in all project areas all day.Add a comment
