Vote yes on MHCC bond
Only one week to our very important election on Tuesday, May 16. Please don't forget to return your ballot, and I encourage and beg you to join me in voting yes for the Mount Hood Community College bond measure. Our college provides $4 of economic impact back to the local economy for every dollar invested.
Thousands of students have benefited through the years from the education received, but after 40 plus years, the community has not approved any funds to help provide upgrades for safety and efficiency. The job training facilities are outdated and need serious repair.
We have the opportunity to receive $8 million from the state in matching funds, but only if we approve this bond measure. Don't let another college get this money.
The new technology center will help bring jobs to our area.
Students can no longer be provided with the modern job skills that local employers need. Remember the words of Nelson Mandela when he stated, "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world"!
If you reside in Zone 4, please cast your vote for Annette Mattson for MHCC Director. She an experienced, respected community member who will be an asset on our board.
