Letter: More funding? Trim bureaucracy instead

Published Aug. 12, 2016 -

FILE PHOTO - Emily Powell, President and Owner of Powells BooksIn a recent story (“Measure 97 could mean the end for Powell’s Books,” Business Tribune, July 22) Amy Powell said, “We all agree the tax system is in trouble and needs fixing, and our schools are in trouble and need revenue ...”

The schools have been in trouble and have needed (even more) revenue since Noah forgot to load the unicorns. I sincerely doubt that more funding will solve anything in a positive fashion. Try trimming the bureaucracy instead. Now there’s a worthy endeavor.
