DEZELLEM — Navy Seaman Eric S. Dezellem, son of Francene A. and John J. Dezellem of Gresham, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.

During the eight-week program, Dezellem completed a variety of training which included classroom study and practical instruction on naval customs, first aid, firefighting, water safety and survival, and shipboard and aircraft safety. An emphasis was also placed on physical fitness.

Dezellem is a 2012 graduate of Gresham High School.

PERRY — Navy Seaman Recruit Rebecca S. Perry, daughter of Don A. Perry, of Portland, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.

During the eight-week program, Perry completed a variety of training which included classroom study and practical instruction on naval customs, first aid, firefighting, water safety and survival, and shipboard and aircraft safety. An emphasis was also placed on physical fitness.

Perry is a 2012 graduate of The Dalles Wahtonka High School in The Dalles.
