Trever Vance Ethridge

June 14, 1990-July 27, 2013

Gresham resident Trever Vance Ethridge died Saturday, July 27. He was 23.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, at Willamette National Cemetery.

Trever was born June 14, 1990, in Oregon City to Vance and Jennifer Ethridge. He grew up with two sisters and a brother.

After graduating from Gresham High School, Trever joined the U.S. Air Force at age 18. His proudest moment was the day he graduated from the Air Force Academy.

Trever loved working on cars, riding motorcycles with his father, driving through the Columbia Gorge with his family and playing on an All-Star Little League team.

Trever is survived by his parents; sisters, Brittany Amarillas and Marissa Ethridge; and brother, Trent Ethridge.

Family Memorial Mortuary is handling arrangements.

Bernard “Bernie” A. Rueschenberg

June 11, 1929-July 24, 2013

Boring resident Bernard Rueschenberg died at his home Wednesday, July 24. He was 84.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Tuesday, July 30, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Sandy.

Bernie was born June 11, 1929, in Frankford, S.D. He was raised and educated in Watertown, S.D.

Bernie served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 until 1955. On Nov. 2, 1965, he married Ramona Asmussen in Watertown.

The family moved to Oregon in 1969, making Boring their permanent home.

Bernie worked in the automotive parts industry his entire career, retiring in the early 1990s. He enjoyed working in his yard, “puttering” around his property and watching NASCAR. Bernie was a longtime member of St. Michael Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife; children, Renee, Robin, Alan, John and Jered; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; twin sister, Bernadine; and brother, LaVerne.

Robert James Savage

March 20, 1946-July 28, 2013

East County resident Robert James Savage died Sunday, July 28. He was 67.

No services will be held.

Robert was born March 20, 1946, in Portland to Arthur and Kathryn (Reid) Savage. He graduated from Cleveland High School and served in the U.S. Navy.

Robert enjoyed reading, cooking and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his sons, Dave Carmen, Ralph McCall and Frank Carmen; daughter, Vicki Force; brother, George Savage; sister, Karen Savage; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Michael Ronald Luchesi

Jan. 7, 1944-July 29, 2013

East County resident Michael Ronald Luchesi died Monday, July 29, in Portland. He was 69.

A celebration of Michael’s life will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home.

Michael was born Jan. 7, 1944, in Chicago to Nickalas and Jeanett (DeBello) Luchesi. He attended high school in Wheaton, Ill. After marrying in 1966, Michael and his wife Betty were divorced.

Michael moved to Oregon in 1968, living in Prineville and then the Gresham-Portland area. He worked as welder in the Portland shipyards and also as an Elvis impersonator — “Johnny Lightning” — for 20 years.

Michael is survived by his children, Michael, Jeffery and Bethlehem Luchesi, and Michael and Jeffery McLaughlin; brothers, Tony and Bill Luchesi, and Roy and Rich Cipriano; and one grandson.

Bateman Carroll Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Contributions may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
