Gresham dog makes AAA PetBook guide
A Gresham dog will be featured in a national guidebook to the most pet-friendly places in the United States and Canada.
Zero, a border collie owned by Keath McKenzie of Gresham, posed for a photo at Triple Falls in East County. His photo was selected for inclusion in the AAA organization's 14th edition of 'Traveling with Your Pet: The AAA PetBook,' which will be published in May.
'Traveling with your Pet: The AAA PetBook' contains listings for more than 13,000 pet-friendly, AAA-rated hotels and campgrounds in the U.S. and Canada. It also lists animal hospitals, dog parks and pet-accessible federal lands.
The new edition is notable in that its cover features the first Oregon dog on the cover of the PetBook.
Chase, a 4-year-old Shetland sheepdog from Aloha, was photographed on Cannon Beach.
A third Oregon dog also is featured in the book. Brandy, a whippet/chocolate Labrador mix owned by Christine Murphy of Cave Junction, was photographed in front of the O'Brien Country Store in O'Brien, Josephine County.
The 14th edition of the book will be available at many AAA offices and bookstores.
