Calling all budding stage stars. Well, not just the soon-to-be stars, but any children who might enjoy the spotlight.
The Nutz-n-Boltz Theater Company in Boring is offering 15 speaking parts and a few non-speaking roles for its spring production, 'Glow Fly and the Seven Bugs,' an original play written by Kelly Lazenby of Gresham.
Entirely filled with children, the grange-hall stage will come to life in mid-May when the first production begins.
But in the meantime, auditions must be held; sets, props and lighting designed; costumes must created and weeks of rehearsals.
The call is out for auditions of speaking parts from any child, ages 8-14.
All children who audition will read from a printed script between 5-8 p.m. Friday, March 2, or between 1-4 p.m. Saturday, March 3, at the Boring-Damascus Grange Hall in downtown Boring.
Rehearsals will be in the evenings from 6 to 8 p.m. about three days a week until May. Performances will be on weekends May 11-27.
Lazenby says this will be the world premiere of this play, since her script hasn't been published or released for any other stage.
'This is going to be a very fun play to perform and learn from,' she said.
