Every year the Oregon Music Educators Association accepts auditions from high school musicians across Oregon.

On Oct. 1, hundreds of instrumentalists and vocalists across the state sent in their auditions for the OMEA Honor Ensembles.

This year, 22 students from Sam Barlow High School were accepted into these prestigious groups.

These musicians will travel to Eugene Jan. 17-19 to join other top high school musicians from across the state.

Representing Barlow in the all-state ensembles are:

OMEA All-State Choir:

• Shayla Callison, soprano

• Katey Nadeau, alto

• Jamie Pryde, soprano

• Alex Tauss, baritone

OMEA All-State Symphonic Band:

• Garrett Childress, trombone

• Isabel Drapela, tenor saxophone

• Brady Jacobson, baritone saxophone

• Kevin Kim, clarinet

• Natalie Koch, bassoon

• Matthew Milward, French horn

• Angela Orellana, bass clarinet

• Alex Ray, percussion

OMEA All-State Wind Symphony:

• Savanah Campbell, French horn

• Ashley DuPuis, alto saxophone

• Amanda Heckmann, euphonium

• Anna Larson, oboe

• Spencer Townsend, trombone

• Chloe Upshaw, flute

• Jake Virell, tuba

OMEA All-State Orchestra:

• Chris Nagel, percussion

• Cameron Salvitelli, percussion

• Kelsey Tryon, bassoon
