Better Business Bureau recognizes local martial arts studio

Local chamber officials assisted the Better Business Bureau on Wednesday, March 26, when U.S. World Class Taekwondo was presented with the BBB’s 2014 Business of the Year Torch Award.

The Gresham business was founded in 1988, and provides martial arts training for youth and adults, as well as self-defense instruction. Owners Claire and Sam Lider took over the school in 2009.

Annually, the BBB honors one business in Oregon, western Washington and Alaska for demonstrating excellence in the marketplace.

Local chiropractor receives new certification

Dr. Steven Prom, with Springwater Chiropractic, recently completed training through the Spine Research Institute of San Diego for certification in Whiplash Injury Biomechanics and Traumatology.

The 48-hour training provided Prom with the most effective and comprehensive treatment and rehabilitation measures to help patients recover from motor vehicle accidents. Prom also learned about the latest applications of cutting-edge imaging technology.
