Caswell Gallery, 253 & 255 E. Columbia River Highway, Troutdale, will exhibit works by painter Sally O’Neill, through April 30.

O’Neill will be at the gallery for First Friday ArtWalk from 5-9 p.m. April 4, which also will feature wine tasting by Phelps Creek as well as music by Crystal CONTRIBUTED PHOTO - Red Sky at Night by Sally ONeill.

O’Neill worked in watercolors for a period of time, but since 1998 she has worked solely in oils.

“As soon as I started painting with oils I knew I had found the perfect medium to express my artistic vision,” she says. “As an admirer of the impressionists, I am obsessed with light, color and atmosphere. Through the layering of colors and texture I’m trying to achieve the effects of light at different times of the day.

“Overall, I want my paintings to bring the viewer into a world they would love to be in, that of beauty and sun drenched days.”

O’Neill’s paintings have received numerous awards, and she also teaches group workshops in addition to instructing private students.

Admission is free to Friday’s reception. For more information, call 503-492-2473 or visit
