Prayer breakfast planned May 3

The East County Mayors Prayer Breakfast will take place from 7:30-9 a.m. at Greater Gresham Baptist Church, 3848 N.E. Division St.

Bill Russell, executive director of Union Gospel Mission, will be the guest speaker, and musician Christopher Benjamin will perform.

Family Matters expert to speak at Boring church

Parenting and family expert Dr. Tim Kimmel of Family Matters (familymatters.net) will speak at the 'Raising Truly Great Kids' conference at Good Shepherd Community Church, 28986 Haley Road.

The conference will take place from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Friday, April 20, and from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday. Doors open at 6 p.m. Friday.

Kimmel is the author of 'Raising Kids for True Greatness' and has been featured on TV and radio programs.
