Bruins enter the 6A bracket as a No. 7 seed
by: David Ball, Barlow shortstop Kaylee Ree turns for a throw to first base for a double play during Tuesday’s play-in victory over Century.

Barlow's softball team had no trouble punching its ticket into the 6A state playoffs Tuesday with a convincing 9-0 win over Century in a play-in qualifier.

The Bruins took quick command with its first two batters, Kaylee Ree and Karli Butler, finding their way on base and scoring as part of a three-run first inning. Barlow would go on to score in each of the first five innings. Bruins pitcher Abbie Bergerson sent the Jaguars down in order four times and struck out seven.

Barlow (13-13) has won seven of its last nine games and will open the 6A bracket Monday at No. 2 seed Glencoe (21-6) - the Pacific League champion.
