Justin Linn scores twice in the first half to lift the Gophers past Reynolds 3-0

by: THE OUTLOOK: DAVID BALL - Greshams David Velasco works to win a ball in the midfield against Reynolds Logan Rust during the Gophers 3-0 win Tuesday night.

Gresham’s Justin Linn simply wouldn’t be stopped on his way to the goal Tuesday night powering the Gophers to a 3-0 win over Reynolds.

Linn highlighted the match with a run from 40 yards out that saw him spin past the first defender before cutting between two more green shirts to enter the 18-yard box. Two quick dribbles, and Linn was on the doorstep beating the goalie with a shot inside the far post for a 2-0 Gophers’ lead midway through the first half.

“Those shots can be easy to miss,” Linn said. “You have to keep your head in the game and be sure to place your shot out of the goalie’s reach.”

Linn connected on a header to put Gresham in front three minutes into the match.

The win marked Gresham’s first in league play.
