MHC SWIMMING - Scots pile on first-place points to stay perfect in league
by: David Ball Emma Redwine-Hixon pushes forward during the breaststroke Thursday.

David Douglas swim coach Jim Bowe pushed the throttles forward and asked for full power from his team Thursday. The Scots responded with a convincing 119-51 win over Gresham in a battle at the top of the Mount Hood Conference.

The Scots took command from the start with a 1-2 finish in the opening 200-yard medley relay. The Douglas 'B' team edged Gresham's first unit by .12 hundredths to complete the sweep.

Douglas continued to stretch the margin in a photo-finish in the 50 freestyle sprint that saw the top three racers touch in within 0.2 tenths of each other. Pamela Kennedy (26.96) and Janessa Dyk came to the wall first, giving the Scots another sweep.
