Centennial answers every challenge

MHC BOYS HOOPS - Isaiah Razo comes up with big baskets down the stretch
by: David Ball Centennial center Guy Powers, 11, goes up for a shot over Reynolds defender Sterling Anderson during the Eagles 44-42 win Friday night.

The Centennial boys basketball team stayed in the mix for a 6A state playoff spot Friday night with a hard-fought 44-42 win over Reynolds.

The Eagles held a slim lead throughout, but had to put number a couple Reynolds charges late in the game to escape with the win. Reynolds made its first move midway through the third period when Chris Lambert turned a hook shot from the right side into a three-point play that brought the Raiders within 25-24.

But before the green shirts could grab the lead, Centennial guard Isaiah Razo connected on a couple drives into the lane to put the Eagles back up by five points.
