The Mt. Hood Community College men's basketball team never found its groove Wednesday night during a 67-46 home loss to rival Clackamas.

The Saints connected on just 8 of 32 (.250) attempts in the first half, putting their success rate in the neighborhood of winning on a lottery scratch-off ticket. The Cougars took full advantage of the misfires when Brett Ball beat the shot clock with an 18-footer that sparked a 7-1 run late in the half. Clackamas went into the locker room with a 13-point lead.

Mt. Hood had a renewed focus when the teams returned for the second half - attack the rim. The team's first five shots all came from inside the paint, but the struggles continued.
