David Douglas scores big win at Regionals
WRESTLING - Scots qualify 13 for next weekend's 6A state meet
David Douglas won the Regional wrestling tournament with little challenge Saturday night, piling up 326.5 points to beat runner-up Canby by 33.
The Scots dominated the lightweights, going a combined 26-4 (.867) from 113 to 138 pounds.
Douglas sophomore Josh Reyes was named Outstanding Wrestler of the tournament, pinning three of his opponents and getting a technical fall in his opening bout. His quickest fall came in Saturday's championship match when he locked up West Linn's Tyler Harman around the head and flattened him in 1:37.
Jeremiah Baker (120) and Gabe Peak (126) also won their weight classes.
Barlow also had three champions in Colby Winnett (132), Jacob Childs (170) and Mick Dougharity (220).
